Just back from a wedding. From an outsider point of view.It was a near disaster.Guests were overflowing. There wasn't enough tables and food.Guests who've already eaten were refusing to leave their seats, leaving the newly arrived guests stranded at the sides with their plates of food. Nasi bryani was gone in 60 second. There was only bones of meat left and no more kuehs.Drinks were horribly sweet. The heat was unbearable. And they were a lot of mats and minahs who couldn't dress properly for the wedding. It's your friend's wedding for goodness sake.Make an effort and dress appropriately. But the arrival of the wedding couple was cool. The best I have seen.Since they're descendants of javanese,he has this entourage of kuda kepang, kumpang and gamelan.Super cool.Leading the way were the 6 ladies in their kuda kepang, doing the graceful swaying dancy thingy. The pelamin was nice also,it's like a stage for block countdown party.haha.Yes the pelamin was planted on this big stage.

The couple look so happy.Duh who wouldn't.But if only they knew what their guests had to endure.

That's why I have come up with my own wedding plan.
*Note:I'm no longer minah kawin-kawin.I'm just stating some things I would rather do on my own wedding if there should be one.*

First, wedding will be done in a hall with enough seats. It doesn't matter if it's in a CC,hotel, country club(melebih aku).As long it's in a hall where my guest don't have to endure the heat and not squeeze in the already very cramped void deck.

Second, get reliable caterer and whatnot wedding organizer. One who is not worried about their profit only.Their first priority should be to make me and my partner and our family plus our guests very happy.Example of bad caterer would the one I just attended. The reason for the lack of food and slow service is that there wasn't many guest at yesterday's nikah, so she sees no need to cook a lot today. What the fuck.Is she professional or not?

Third, my wedding entourage will be some cool procession like the above mentioned. It might not neccesarily be kuda kepang coz I'm not Jawa. But ya something cool.My aunt suggested hip hop and rnb entourage. With breakdancing crew at the front and freestyle rapping at the back.Haha.Super cool.

Fourth, I want a big space in front of my dais so that people don't have to cramped just to take pictures of and with the happy couple. And also I can fit in a performance at the front be it silat or some dancing thingy. That wedding i've just attended should have the kuda kepang do some dance or some sort but maybe due to space constraints, all the kuda kepang could do was sway right left right.

Fifth, No karaoke on my wedding. No way man.Unless you have the voice of an angel,or maybe to be fair,a decent pleasant singing voice. So far I hated all the karaoke at the wedding. For Goodness sake, the guests are eating, and there you are trying to reach the high notes. Please spare me and the guests.I don't mind DJs but please no oldies.I don't mind a few but a flashback to the 70s is certainly not needed. And only soothing song or cool rnb or hip hop shit can be play.

Sixth, friends take note. Please dress appropriately. No jeans and kebaya blouses please. And guys no bermudas and slippers.Ahhh!!!I know we are all very modern people. But we still need to respect the tradition right.Come in those lovely baju kurungs or kebayas ok.And my dayand-dayang shouldn't look even more extravaganza than the bride.Haha.You should see them man. There were a few who are even more gamourous than the bride with their 1inch makeup.
For my wedding, they'll all be in neutral makeup with a bit of peachy glow so that they will look pure like how any dayang should be and adorned with beautiful pastel colour kebaya.

Seventh, I want a modern wedding. Please no gaudy old decorations, with uncoordinated flowers on the dais and on the tables and colours such as gold and orange or red.It should be white or soothing pastel colours with touches of gold/silver/crystals to show the subtleties of class and elegant.

How?Can?haha. You can contact me if you want me to be your wedding planner.I promise I'll try to be better than J.Lo.
