Watched DaVinci Code with Jo.One word to describe.Disappointing!
The book was way better.Almost everything was wrong.Inaccurate.The movie doesn't build you up as much as the book does.And I detect a sense of rushness in the movie while the book brings you slowly to the climax.Like a pending great orgasm.Ok bad analogy I know.
I think the movie is trying to be less dramatic than the book.In a sense,trying to not be politically incorrect.But here's the thing,Davinci Code screams politically incorrect.So if next time a director or producer even think of making an adaptation from Dan Brown's book.Think twice.Stick to the plot or just forget it.I tell you there's so many thing that were incorrect,you'll have a debate after the movie.Well that's what me and Jo did. It's like a summary gone awry.Like getting a 3 out of 10 in your GP paper 2 summary section.You almost got the gist but that's the thing...almost
Don't get me wrong.The movie is ok.Not as bad as what the critic make it out to be.(Coz I sense bitterness in their review).Just that if you really read the book and the content is fresh in your mind,you'll definitely see the flaw.So my verdict is forget what you read in order to truly enjoy the movie.Coz if you are someone like me who visualize every single line I read,this movie is a disappointment.It doesn't live up to the book.
I did however like the ending.Coz it's the only thing that follows the book strictly.I know coz I cried reading the ending of the book.Don't ask me why. And I almost cried just now watching the ending.Damn you silence motivator(a.k.a backgroung music).
Oh and I like Silas.Wait make it hate.Ah heck.Watching Silas on the big screen is a love hate relationship for me.One moment you want to slap him and ask him what the hell.The next you just want to hold him and hug him till he suffocate.So poor thing you know,finally getting to see how the cilice and The Discipline works.And so scary plus gruesome too.But one thing for sure,damn you movie creator,Silas eyes are red la.The basic component of an albino person.Read your bio text!
Ok enough about the movie.Go watch it and we can discuss about it sometime soon.
Health update.I went to the doctor.Yeah for me coz I hardly go to doctor when I have flu and gladly pass my germs to me dear extended family.Well,too late coz I did anyway.To those who remembered there's a shop behind my block.Guess what,it's a clinic now.I know the doctor well.Very well in fact.When he saw me after so many years,he has no choice but to wince that I make him feel older.Haha.Imagine from a pri 3 girl to now a soon to be year Year 2 undergrad.
So he said I have the common flu.At first I was surprised why he would suspect of any other deadly flu.Coz I thought a flu is just a flu.Then it struck me.Bird Flu la dey.So no people,I don't have bird flu,just the common flu.Infectious but not deadly I think.I hope.
