Ok so the poly grads are now able to graduate with the gown...I think it's a good thing. Seriously, what's the point of graduation ceremony if there's not much to make it special. Sure anyone can wear any clothes, walk on the stage to receive that rolled paper? But I guess by wearing a gown, it sure amplify the special-ness of the event. Please la have you seen the US kids. They graduated from high school, which is equivalent to JC I think, and yet they get to have this grand graduation ceremony with prom night and what nots. Us...all we got was a goodriddancefarewell party and the burnt-a-hole-in-your-pocket-with-bad-food-and-no-dancing "grad" nite...they can't even afford to call it prom nite la. So ya it was great I thought when they reinstate the gown at the poly graduation ceremony
But at the same time, I'm glad they are making it very different from Uni's graduation ceremony. As much as I am happy for the poly students, I still want to stand out with my gown and mortar board. Coz it's taking me bloody 16 years to reach that stage. So I would like my blue gown, with the hooded thingy and my mortar board to go please. If only I have the money, will definitely consider buying it for memory sake. But for now I guess renting the gown and immortalising it through photo will do....
Can't wait for convo... Am waiting for it for like....FOREVER.
More so coz I want to make my mum proud...proud that she has brought up a good girl single-handedly up till when she can finally let go and let me mould my own future.
Can't wait.InsyaAllah.
