Yesterday was spent with loves. Friends, food and fireworks

First was the meetup with Dee for a belated birthday celebration for both of us. It's very hard to find a suitable time to meet, she with work and all and me with school..so its nice to finally find the time.

And I got a birthday treat at Sakura Buffet. Boy eating never felt so wrong. We got so stuffed at the end, we can hardly walk, talk , laugh or anything else that require energy. Quite paradoxical coz food afterall is supposed to give you energy. But yeah, stuffing ourselves beyond the point of recognition was the stupidiest thing we ever did.

Oh I got to blog about this, coz it was just so bloody funny to me. When my order of lamb steak came, I was laughing at the vile attempt of putting salad into the dish

Frozen mixed vegetables is not salad, it never is ok.

But what takes the cake is when Dee's salmon came.

I just burst out laughing when the waiter went off. The salmon piece was small and thin, with scattered corn n carrots bits. My goodness....

But the desserts are not so bad... I love the brownie and durian cream puff.

Next was the fireworks. The first thing I did when I won a pair of tix to the fireworks festival was to sms Dee. You see the annual fireworks thingy is kinda our thing since hers and another friend of ours birthday are in August. But the other girl is already married and for some reason, we hardly meet up anymore...So yeah..now it's just me and Dee and I am glad we went, coz the fireworks were gorgeous.

The pictures don't do justice to how mangnificient it was. And the French team really know how to up the ante by pairing up the fireworks with French songs. It was ohng ohng ohng( sorry this is my vile attempt to make this sound French people made, aiyah ask Norm and Yunus la) tres sexy.

This year I told myself no crazy snapping shots of the fireworks and just enjoy. And I did. And it got kinda relaxing coz its like I just imagine myself exploding away with the fireworks, in a bid to run away from everything. Its like there's calmness in the chaos, the booms and the bangs. The beauty of it all. I almost cried.

Loves.loves.loves.

But the traffic after the fireworks.. My goodness. Humans everywhere! I was supposed to meet up Fiza and Norman right after the fireworks ends and after Dee went off but I ended up being 1 hour late, coz 1) human traffic was atrocious 2) most of the places are cordoned off. 3) I have no idea how to make my way through the darn Marina area and thus 4) I was lost. Being alone and lost...scary...

And when I finally met up with the 2 of them., all the shops were already closing so we decided to go to Orchard to one of those 24hour coffee joint. I love our night conversations. It really ranges from pure aimless nonsensical to reflective, smart, intellectual topic. Loves!

First time I took the night rider and a guy actually slept on me shoulders throughout the whole journey. Thank God there was no traffic and the bus are moving quite fast. Lenyak siak. His leg was so terkangkang that I had to really push my leg way to the side and I tried to shift my body time and time again so that he would wake up and not lean on me but to no avail. That guy is seriously out cold man.

Ok mum's just got back home and she's making a din coz she said she couldnt sleep the whole night as I was not home yet before she went off to work. :) Mums...what do we do without them.
