The interview was not as smooth sailing as I wanted it to be. Imagine my surprise(or horror) that Mr Kwek(yes that mr kwek) is one of the interviewers. Although I am applying for a malay teacher position, the panel was a mixed one. You would think having a mixed panel would be better since I get to converse in both English and Malay, but man the questions were hard. I was asked on the new educational policy which I totally screwed it up( I answered new pay rise for teachers..wtf wtf wtf). I was questioned why I had refused the offer for BSc in edu 4 years ago and back now for a PGDE(I know that was coming...ahhh!!!). I was asked on the development of Malay language in this region that would benefit the language and I was asked on how I would use my major to help in teaching...all these while the interviewer thought I am taking Malay Lit and not Malay studies. Le Sigh. Just gotta cross my finger I guess and hope for the best.
Thank God for the cousins at home. I was so down after the interviewer, I decided to do some damage by taking the kids out. Was supposed to go to Laser Quest at the request of the small one,Faowzy, coz he has yet to try it out due to height constraint then. But to our disappointment, the whole place is like booked the whole week for birthdays. So we went bowling instead and later to West Mall for some arcade. Looking at the older cousins, it makes me smile at how fast they are growing up. One is a total mat, so you can imagine the jokes that he makes. Kept all of us cracking the whole time. One is a pseudo mat who kept looking and showing me pictures of girls in his friend psp(not that kind of photos, prom night photos la) . It doesn't matter how smart you are and in what school you are in. Boys will always be boys huh.
Ouh one incident totally crack us up like crazy. At West Mall, the girl cousin saw a guy who wore this cropped top, leaving his (hairy)belly exposed. So being the dizzy teenagers they are, they were all looking at him and giggling here and there. The guy realised they were looking so he gave quite a few displeased looks. But these kids didn't relent and continued looking at him even though he was already a storeys down. So realising this, the guy actually gave a sharp look at these kids from afar and showed them the finger. That make a few of them really scared and they all ran back into the arcade. I was laughing my heads off. Kacau orang tahu, kene balik takut! HAHAHAH. They were so scared, they were thinking of like escape route and was cautiously looking around should the guy came back. Their reasoning for this fear. "Eh kak hanim..orang giler macam gini kalau marah, dorang kuat ah nak pukul orang". Translation: Mad people are strong when provoked, especially when they want to beat you up. So fucking cute la. Later on, one even went further to pass me this file he was holding on. When I asked him why, he answered.."kalau die kejar, orang bole lari, kak hanim kuat, kak hanim pukul die pakai file ni" Bertuah nye budak.

Quick, guess who's not my cousins in this picture...hahaha... I know some of you know my family a little bit too well, so here's to test your knowledge. =P

Other photos here.
Sometimes I do wished I had a bit more money so I can bring them out more. I know fun doesn't have to have a hefty price tag but these are growing kids, they need food!constantly! You have any idea how much it is to feed one, what more 5 at a time, sometimes 6 ,7 or 8 coz their friends tag along. Madness! But its ok, hopefully once I start working, we can do these outing more often. Only no more crop tshirt wearing guy anymore I hope. Heee.
