I just had the weirdest taxi ride home.
I got into the taxi with a driver who's worried that my packet food from my mum's canteen will spill over. After assuring him that it's going to be ok, we set off and saw a dog crossing the road. He is very fascinated with the Tuas dog. To him the dogs are smart, to me, well I am used to seeing dogs crossing the road. I told him it's a survival thingy. The dogs know roads in Tuas can be hazardous, so with time, they too have learnt how to cross the road safely. It's the instinct thing you know. The driver on the other hand, kept on babbling.. I couldn't remember much coz I remember switching off after I heard something about releasing lions on the road to scare the dogs away. Yes, now you know why I switched off. And mind you, this is not even the weirdest part. What is weird is that after the rambling has stopped, he just looked at the mirror and began to ask me this.
"Ask you ah, if,let's say this girl is my friend and it's her birthday, if I don't buy her presents, she will get mad or not?"
At that point of time, I swear I just wanted to burst out laughing. A taxi driver asking me a boy/girl problem. Eh kelakar kaperrr... You would think he would stop after I answered what I thought is a reasonable answer, considering I am a girl and my birthday is coming =) =) =). But noooo... He went on and on about how he has been sending this girl home for the past 2 months, then he stopped coz the girl rejected him, how this girl is apparently sponging on him, how this girl told him she don't like him but don't stop him from sending her home, yada yada yada.. The whole 30 minute journey was about him and this girl, who I suspect is a China girl, from the sounds of it. And the crazy ass thing is that, because he took a longer way out of Tuas than other taxi driver would, we ended up having to pay him 28 bucks, instead of the usual 23 bucks. Merepekism. And all I got is, "Thanks for your advice ah". You should pay me 28 bucks ah. Mana ade taxi driver tanye orang r/s problem.. Klakar kaperrr....
